HI,

Just got this error message ...

Error while copying layout to target views: The node to be removed is not a child of this node.

Any ideas as to what caused it ?

btw- use your tools on an almost daily basis !

Can you precise the entity impacted and the type of view your are using?

If you could also push the XML of each layout here

Just downloaded the tool. First time I have tried to connect to a CRM Online server got an error.
Could you please have a look? (Attached):
My org name: mvem.crm4.dynamics.com
"Error while retrieving organizations: The remote name could not be resolved: 'disco.mvem.crm4.dynamics.com'
Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'https://disco.mvem.crm4.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc?wsdl'.

You should just type crm4.dynamics.com as server name

The attached error is thrown when I try to connect to our sever with the View Layout Replicator. My settings are correct since I am able to connect with another tool, the Site Map Editor, so there must be a deeper issue here. Just wanted you to be aware. Thanks!

No, I didn't. I had Sitemapeditor on another laptop. The laptop connected to the network (where the crm server is located) could not connect for either the SiteMapeditor or the ViewLayoutReplicator. However, I could connect with both tools on the laptop which is not on the network...

Hi,
This problem is due to the fact that windows identity foundation is not installed on the computer you are using

Are you sure you used sitemapeditor on the same computer?

I have just re-tested with your latest release. If you change a view using this tool and publish, the view is changed in IE but NOT in Outlook. If you look at the view in Customizations in Dynamics CRM, the view seems to be changed but for some reason the change does not work in Outlook. You must make some change to the view again in Customizations inside Dynamics CRM and save/publish. This change can be anything -sort order, remove and then add field. This is true for custom and out-of-box entities. I have tried deleting the Outlook configuration and adding it again as well as not configuring the Outlook client until after the views have been changed. None of this helped.. changes made to the views using this utility do not work in Outlook.

We experienced the same problem. I found out that the code only copies the layoutXML cells but not the attributes in the fetchXML.

The Webclient doesn't matter if the layoutXML has attributes which aren't in the layoutXML but Outlook on the other hand just ignores those columns in the view.

I've attached the updated ViewHelper.cs (Just a hack, not 100% optimized)

Yes it was intentional... It would have been difficult to manage three panels auto resizing...
